Thursday Things

1.     A small timeline for my life:

5 days until I’m home.

7 days until thanksgiving (and pie).

8 days until Black Friday (and pie).

2.     Since I will be having so much pie in the coming week, I thought maybe I should give up sugar again for a week. Like I stupidly did a while ago.

3.     I then had a chocolate chip cookie. And then another.

4.     I am spending waaaaaaay too much time on this site.

5.     Thespacebaronmyphoneisbrokensoallmytextslooklikethis. It’ssoannoying. #butifiaddahashtagit’sok.

6.     I am done with Thursday classes for this quarter! And Wednesday too!

7.     This post is short. And poorly planned. Without pictures. Fail.

8.     Better things in the coming weeks, I promise!

Happy Thursday,
Amanda

Thursday Things

1)     I’m back! And I feel so much better than a week ago. It’s really amazing how different our bodies can feel in only seven days. Even in just one day! I went spinning this morning and haven’t felt so good in quite a while.

2)     Adding to my feel good mood – it’s snowing here! Finally! It’s just a few flurries, nothing major, but it’s enough to make me giddy.

3)     I want to listen to this alldaylong.

4)     Remind me of these happy feelings above when I’m lamenting about the cold and wet come January.

5)     The snow did give me an excuse to wear my new winter hat. Finally!

6)     As part of my 30 Day Photo Challenge I took more pictures of leaves. Well…what’s left of them. Follow along here!

7)     Starbucks has holiday cups again! Oh happy day!

8)     In my festive cup this morning I got a latte with one pump toffee nut and one pump caramel. Kinda reminiscent of salted caramel and kinda addicting.

Happy Thursday!

Swedish Visiting Cake

I posted no Thursday Things last week. There were no Things for me to post about last Thursday. Instead, there were doctor’s appointments, ice packs, and tears.

I woke up Thursday morning and could barely move. And when I did, the amount of pain I felt made me want to never attempt to move again. I didn’t know what was going on and I didn’t know what to do.

After multiple, painful visits to the doctor I was told I have a pinched disk in my neck, a by-product of the workouts that I do. The doctor gave me some medication and said that all I could really do was take it easy and wait for it to calm down. I was miserable.

Why I am telling you all of this? You don’t come here for my sob stories. You come here for butter and sugar and pictures of tasty treats that I put in my face. We’ll get there.

Chewy Ginger Cookies with Lemon Cream Cheese Frosting

I know, I know another cookie post. Just who do I think I am? But, just go with me for a second on this, ok?

Think about it, warm, spicy cookies with just the right amount of chew. A little bit of heat from ginger and molasses that is mellowed out by creamy, cool lemon. Bliss. And festive for the holidays too! Are my not entirely necessary italics bothersome yet?

Cute, and tasty, but could be cuter, and tastier.

I made these little guys this weekend as some of the treats for my dorm’s Halloween party Saturday. I also made pumpkin bars, triple dark chocolate cupcakes, caramel corn, and these pumpkin pecan salted caramel blondies that were so good I couldn’t even snap pictures before they were all gone.

Guess I’ll just have to make them again.
